About Lagune Douce
Teinte 18, Lagune Douce, opens the turquoise pairing within the Fresh & Aquatic family. The photo shows a bright, light blue green, fairly even overall, with slight shifts in saturation from tile to tile that echo the play of light on shallow water. Handmade in Fez, the surface keeps a gentle relief that catches the light and lets the colour move through the day, from a very soft turquoise in the morning to a more assertive tone under raking light. Compared with its neighbour Turquoise Profond, Lagune Douce stays lighter and airier, with less density of blue. It is a colour that opens up a space: it suits a full bathroom, an indoor pool, a kitchen splashback, anywhere a clean freshness is wanted without heavy contrast. Like every zellige shade, it comes in several formats, sold by the plaque or made to measure, and its tone to tone irregularities are part of the charm of handmade work.
