About Encre Profonde
Encre Profonde, shade 31, is the darkest of the blue family: a dense black where blue reveals itself only in occasional icy flashes crossing the matte surface from tile to tile. The overall effect stays very uniform, almost absorbing, and this very restraint is its strength: blue is suggested here rather than asserted. Hand cut in Fez, each tile keeps the edge and surface irregularities that feed this subtle play of light. This near black shade suits compositions built on depth rather than brightness, a full wall in a dark room, a niche, a floor. It differs from Bleu Nuit and Indigo Royal through its reserve: where its neighbours let blue surface more openly, Encre Profonde holds it back. Sold by the panel, available in several formats and possible made to measure, it grounds a room with quiet sobriety.
